Solar SUNday picnic 2025

Sun 22 Jun

|

London

Join the Baker Street Irregulars to view the Summer Sun through special filtered telescopes and binoculars. Wonder at the sunspots, prominences and filaments visible on the solar disc. Bring your own picnic, food and drink to socialise with other like minded astros.

Time & Location

22 Jun 2025, 11:00 – 15:00

London, The Regent's Park, London NW1 4NR, UK

About the event

We meet, not in our usual Hub terrace venue, but on Hanover Green opposite the mosque, by the children's boating lake. Enter the park through Hanover Gate to find the observing site on your left. We start to converge at 11:00. If you have a solar telescope or white filtered binoculars please bring them with you. DO NOT BRING ANY OTHER TELESCOPES OR BINOCULARS AND NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITH YOUR EYES! But please bring a picnic and a blanket to lie upon. The Waterside cafe is close by as well as lavatories (£). This meeting is suitable for wheelchair users.
